Zoo meerkats can't tell if a person is happy or sad — hinting our pets learned that skill from being bred by usمیرکتهای باغوحش نمیتوانند تشخیص دهند یک انسان خوشحال است یا ناراحت — نشانهای از اینکه حیوانات خانگی ما این مهارت را از پرورشیافتن توسط انسان آموختهاند
Zoo-living meerkats showed no sign of telling apart happy, sad, fearful, and neutral human faces and voices. Tests with 35 animals found none of the emotion-reading responses that pet dogs and cats show.

A drug for HIV may slow nerve diseases like ALS, early fruit fly tests hintدارویی برای HIV شاید بتواند بیماریهای عصبی مانند ALS را کند کند؛ دستکم این چیزی است که آزمایشهای اولیه روی مگس سرکه نشان میدهد.
Scientists found a brain protein called ARC packages a harmful protein, TDP-43, and passes it between cells to spread nerve disease. Removing ARC, or blocking it with an approved HIV drug, stopped this and helped fruit flies live longer.

A gut bacteria transfer hints at a new way to calm hard-to-treat epilepsy
